At rootsMD we can take care of 80 - 90% of what you may need. However, we recommend that you have health insurance for complex specialty, unexpected or catastrophic needs. 

Some patients continue a commercial insurance plan in addition to a DPC membership for the benefits of improved relationship with and access to their own physician, and DPC access to lab and medication savings. Self-funded employers or small businesses may opt to offer a wrap around plan with DPC for their employees. Some will utilize a major medical plan with a high deductible and health savings account (HD/HSA). Other patients will use health cost sharing plans – some of these plans offer discounts to DPC patients knowing they are less likely access unnecessary and costlier care away from their PCP office.
